Chilton Primary School

One Childhood, One Chance

New Team Drives Chilton Forward

There’s a new team driving Chilton Primary School at Ramsgate forward this school year.

Existing Head of School Kate Law is joined by Natalie Barrow, who has joined as Deputy Head of School, from St Nicholas Primary Academy in New Romney; and teacher Hannah Cheshire, who has moved up to the role of Assistant Head of School.

Mrs Law said: “Chilton is developing and meeting new challenges all the time, and our new additions to the senior team will give us an even more focussed direction for teaching and learning.

“These are exciting times at Chilton, and we are also one third of the recently-launched Viking Academy Trust that also includes Upton Junior School in Broadstairs, and Ramsgate Arts Primary School. We are working very closely with these schools and are developing strong relationships with their teams.”

Miss Barrow, whose duties also encompass teaching and learning, and curriculum enrichment for the whole school, said: “I have been made so welcome at Chilton. I am really enjoying this new challenge in my career and I could not have wished for a more supportive and friendly group of colleagues, pupils and parents.

“I was impressed very early on at the level of respect that exists between the pupils and the teachers, which is so important.”

Miss Cheshire, who is also head of Early Years, reading and writing, added: “I love working at Chilton and my new role is something I am relishing. Chilton has a fantastic sense of community spirit and very good relationships between the pupils, parents and staff.”
