Key Dates
6th May to 15th May – Year 6 are invited into school for breakfast from 8am. Just to be clear, there will be no breakfast on Friday 16th May due to the London Trip
SATS week: we encourage children to join us for a lovely breakfast from 8am.
Friday 16th May- London Eye/River Cruise. Please ensure your child is at school by 8:30am. We will be returning to school at approximately 7:30pm. Remember to bring a packed lunch, plenty of snacks and drinks. Your child must wear school uniform and comfortable shoes.
English
This week, the children wrote a narrative based on Kensuke’s Kingdom. They devised a plan, splitting their work into three paragraphs. In their narrative, they used language features such as, a range of sentence types, figurative language, dialogue, third person, past tense and a range of descriptive vocabulary.
Maths
In maths this week, the children revised their understanding of some of the Year 6 skills. They looked at symmetry, adding and subtracting fractions, nets of shapes and multi-step worded problems. To end the week, the children undertook outdoor activities linked to a range of problem-solving skills.
Thematic
In Thematic this week, the children learnt about VE day: what it means and how people celebrate it. After, they sang popular victory songs and made celebratory VE day bunting.
