One Childhood, One Chance

Friday 1st May

Good morning, Team Peacock and Team Azure! Happy Friday!

We're at the end of another Lockdown week (and month). Take a second this morning to reflect on your time in Lockdown so far. We've missed people but let's think of some good aspects. We've been able to spend lots of time with our close relatives. We've been able to go on lots of nice walks and bike rides and had mostly good weather. We've been able to learn new skills such as baking and DIY. We've been able to stay in our pyjamas more!

Well done to everyone for staying so strong during this time. Today's learning is as follows:

Maths

Today, we will be looking at the relationship between perimeter and area before attempting some exciting NRICH problems and games. There are a range of investigations for you to look at. You don't have to do them all! Pick one that you like and that you are able to do.

English

Friday's SPAGADAY has been attached for you to complete. Today's English is an opportunity for you to share your favourite story with us. First, we would like you to complete a book review for your favourite story book. There is a template attached but if you would like to do it in a more creative way, please feel free! For your Big Write, you may pick your task but it needs to be linked to your favourite story. Some ideas could be:

  • Write a different ending for your story
  • Rewrite the story from the perspective of a different character
  • Write a story involving a character from your story on another adventure
  • Rewrite the story with you as a character

We would like you to focus on using PARAGRAPHS to structure your writing (remember TiP ToP - new paragraph for a new Time, Place, Topic or Person) and using a range of EXCITING OPENERS (remember to follow your fronted adverbials with a comma!).

RE

Today is the last lesson of our Buddhism unit. We hope you've enjoyed it! You will be looking at the festival of Songkran, which marks the end of the rainy season. Your actvities have also been attached and their are a number of really cool choices including making a boat and having a water fight!

Have a wonderful weekend.
