The challenge here wasn't solving the addition calculations that were hidden around the playground and field.  Instead, we had to work with our learning partners and discuss the methods we used to solve them.  After listening to each others' methods, we had to explain them in our books.  Some of our methods included rounding and adjusting, place value knowledge, doubling, counting on and use of number bonds.
