Reading
Today, read pages 28-31 of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory below. You have 4 pages to read today so concentrate - ask an adult to read some with you if you need some help.
Now answer these questions about what you have just read.

Writing
For your writing task today you need to write a character description of Augustus Gloop and Veruca Salt. Write a paragraph to describe each of them. Remember to use adjectives to describe how they look, verbs and adverbs to describe how things move and you could also use similes. Think about your sentence openers - don't always start sentences with he or she or they or their name. Make sure you describe what their personality is like as well as what they look like.
Maths
Today we are going to be finding missing numbers by doing inverse operations.
If we have a multiplication problem which has a missing number and an answer, we can find that missing number by using the inverse operation which is division.
For example:
3 x __ = 36
We need to make 3 our divisor, 36 our dividend and use the bus stop method to work out our answer, which would be 12.
If our missing number is in a division problem then we need to times the two remaining numbers together to find our answer.
For example:
__ ÷ 6 = 4
We do the inverse operation which is 6 multiplied by 4 which equals 24.
Complete the sheets attached by using the inverse operation to find your answers. The sheets are differentiated, so start at the level that you feel suits your ability. Answers are included for you to check your work.
Topic
Today we will practice our map skills again.
At the beginning of our topic, we learnt about where in the world chocolate was made. It is made in hot, wet countries such as Ecuador, Ghana, Nigeria, Indonesia and Brazil.
When the cocoa beans have been harvested, they are sold to other countries that use them to make chocolate. This is called importing the cocoa beans. The main countries that import cocoa beans are:
- Germany
- Switzerland
- United States of America
- France
- Russia
- United Kingdom
- Belgium
- Italy
All of these countries, except for USA, are in Europe so they will all be close together on the World map. Belgium and Switzerland are also very small countries so they may be tricky to find.
If you have an atlas at home, see if you can find these countries in your atlas. If not, open the world map attached below and find the countries.
Now open the blank world map and see if you can find the countries, colour them in and label them with the countries name. (If this is too tricky I have also attached a blank map with the country names on it to help you).
