One Childhood, One Chance

Weekly Blog Post - 20.11.20

English

Year 3 have really excelled themselves this week! We have been reading The Tunnel by Anthony Browne and using it to help us create suspenseful writing. They have been using short, sharp sentences, rhetorical questions, emotive language and exclamations to create spooky, ominous pieces of writing. Everyone did a fantastic job and worked incredibly hard. Well done!

Maths

In Maths this week, we have been looking at 3D shapes and identified their properties which are: vertices, edges and faces. We made our own 3D shapes out of nets and finally put them in different categories depending on their properties.

RE

In RE we have been learning about Jesus and how he is described in The Bible. We found out that there is no description of his appearance, however much is written about his actions and teachings.

Home Learning

This week's home learning is to find 3D shapes around your house. See which shapes are the most common and which are very rare. You might even want to create a chart in you Love To Learn books about the number of shapes you find. Be as creative as you would like. Please hand in your work by Wednesday 25th.
