One Childhood, One Chance

Weekly News

In English this week, we planned out a narrative (based on Kensuke's Kingdom) in which the main character experienced a flashback that took him back to a chilling day where he nearly drowned trying to rescue his beloved pet.  The children used precise vocabulary choices and use of punctuation to create an atmosphere as the character's emotions change.  The children's work was a very enjoyable read!

In Maths, we have continued with our understanding of percentage by finding percentage of amounts, followed by percentage increase and decrease.  We thought about where we see percentage increase or decrease in everyday life so that we could make links to our learning.

For our topic See Hear, we researched how the eye works then began to make our own models!  From this, we developed an experiment to test whether light travels in straight lines.

Love to Learn will be from www.mymaths.co.uk and is linked to percentage.

For Easter celebrations, children in Years 3-6 are invited to create their own Easter bonnet or hat if they would like to and the winner from each year group will be selected by their teachers during the day.  Good luck if you choose to enter!
