One Childhood, One Chance

Weekly News 17.5.19

Values

This week we have continued to learn about diversity. We have focussed on our wellbeing and thought about ways that we could be positive about ourselves. We have been preparing for our parade and we cannot wait to show you!

Maths

In Maths we have been learning how to add and subtract fractions. We used manipulatives and jottings to make sure we understood what happens to the denominator and numerator. We found it a bit tricky when converting from improper fractions to mixed fractions. We will continue our learning in fractions next week.

English

This week Charlotte began to write her messages within her web to help save Wilbur. We thought about the different characters and how they infer their feelings. In our writing we practised using dialogue. We were fantastic at punctuating speech! We then pretended to be interviewers or characters from the story to prepare us for writing newspaper reports.

Topic

We have been learning about how the eye and ear works. We also learnt about our teeth and their functions. We did lots of investigating, using observation to find evidence.

Coming up

Good to be me parade! Come and join us on Friday afternoon on the playground.

Next week we will be mixing classes across Year 3 and Year 4 to do some shared learning about 'Good to be Me'.

Love to Learn
This week we have learnt about the EYE and the EAR. Your job is to teach others about this body part in any way you would like!
