Weekly news
This week, year 2 have continued reading about the adventures of the Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton. They have written from the perspective of an angry pixie and written a poem describing the enchanted tree. They have been using thesauruses to find new and exciting language instead of using vocabulary such as big, nice and fun.
In maths, they have revisited the four operations (add/subtract/divide/multiply) and applied their knowledge to answer worded problems. We have also been practising the quick recall of our times tables so please keep doing these at home. A great game that the children play at school is: hit the button on topmarks.co.uk.
In topic, the children have been learning labelling continents and oceans and looking at the differences between towns and the countryside.
Viking games
The children had an amazing time during the Viking games! They were so well behaved and worked so hard. Check out the pictures below.
Home Learning
We would like the children to read for their home learning this week. Lots of children have been given new reading bands so please read as much as you can.
Class photos
Class photos are on Monday 17th June.
