Friday 19th July - Sports Day. Children to wear a t-shirt in their house colour. Sports day will take place from 9.15am. There will be a family picnic on the field 12 – 1pm.

Tuesday 23rd July – Last day of term. 2pm end time.

Learning this week:

‘There’s a boy in the girl’s bathroom’ has continued to grip us. This week we perfected our sentence construction and use of varied punctuation by writing ‘notes’ that the characters would pass around in class. We shared each character’s viewpoint by selecting vocabulary carefully.

Our maths learning has be based on scaling. We looked at exchange rates and calculated the cost of items and activities in different countries based on different exchange rates. We then scaled recipes in order to increase or decrease a batch size.

In topic, we have been learning about prehistoric food and have created our own recipe based on our learning.

Home Learning:

Tell us about your YEAR 5 memories.

There is no right or wrong way to complete a Love to Learn task! Please be as imaginative or as creative as you would like! Love to Learn tasks should be returned on the Wednesday following them being set. Whilst books may not be formally marked, in class we will spend time looking at and enjoying what everyone has learned at home and rewards and house points will be given!
