One Childhood, One Chance

Young Voices 2020!

The Harmony Voice Choir joined in the huge event at the O2!

Thirty children from Years 3 to Year 6 became part of the world’s biggest choir when they took part in the annual Young Voice extravaganza at the famous venue.

They sang a range of numbers including a Best of the West country tribute, a pop medley, rock hits by Queen, Ode To Peace based on Beethoven's Ninth Symphony chorale finale Ode To Joy, Shiny Happy People, 1000 Hallelujahs, Kusimama world music choral song, and Disney favourites You’ll Be In My Heart and On My Way.

Special guests at the show who entertained and joined in were former Spandau Ballet lead singer Tony Hadley; country music stars The Shires (Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes); and Ruti who won The Voice UK talent show in 2018.

Tony Hadley said: “Everybody has a fantastic time at the Young Voice shows. It is an incredible experience for the children and it is a privilege to be involved with these wonderful young people who all share a love of singing.”

Natalie Barrow, Deputy Head of Chilton, said: “This is our second trip to Young Voices at The 02. Our singers and senior teaching assistant Mysti Watling who leads them rehearsed long and hard for the performance.

“They thoroughly enjoyed being part of a huge spectacle with thousands of other young children, raising their voices in song and celebration.

“It is something they will talk about for weeks and weeks; it is a certainly part of their Chilton learning experience they will never forget.”

Young Voice holds 23 concerts across the nation at arenas in Birmingham, Sheffield, Manchester and London.
