I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for the calm and smooth return to school after the half-term break. It was heartwarming to see the children arriving on Monday with such smart new hairstyles, presumably in preparation for the school photos on Wednesday. The children looked exceptionally smart, and your support in ensuring they were dressed their best is greatly appreciated.

As I write this, our Reception class is yet to embark on their eagerly awaited trip to Wingham today. This annual outing is always a highlight for both the children and the staff, and I am sure they will have a fantastic time exploring and learning.
Looking ahead to next week, we have some exciting trips planned. Year 2 will be visiting Monkton Nature Reserve, which promises to be an educational and enjoyable experience. Meanwhile, Year 5 will be heading to the beach for a day of fun and exploration. I am keeping my fingers firmly crossed for some summer-like weather to enhance these outings. Not only would it make the trips more enjoyable, but a bit of sunshine always lifts our spirits and helps us top-up our tans!
In other, exciting news. Next week we will be launching a weekly ‘wake-and-shake’! Every Wednesday morning, we will welcome all our children and their families onto the top field from 8:20, for a bit of a dance and morning wake up to get the blood flowing. At 8:30, we will all do the ‘Viking Games’ dance, before the children then go back down to class for registration. The aim of this is to find a moment in the week to bring us all together as a community, but also a moment to get the blood pumping, open up the lungs to get the children ready for their learning. As an added incentive, I will be manning a small tea and coffee table, so will be available to chat and discuss anything you might like to bring to my attention, or just simply enjoy the sunshine together.
Thank you once again for your continued support. I wish you all a wonderful weekend and look forward to seeing the children back on Monday, ready for another week of learning and adventures.
