Chilton Primary School

One Childhood, One Chance

Thursday 24th October 2024

Dear Families,

As we wrap up this term, I want to take a moment to celebrate all of our collective successes and thank each of you for the unwavering support you’ve shown. From your cheerful, positive faces at the gates every morning to the way you’ve supported your children with their reading and fostered such positive attitudes towards school, your dedication has been clear, and I am incredibly grateful.

I'm proud to share that we are finishing the term with a fantastic 97% attendance across the school. This may seem like just a number, but it's a key part of our mission to empower children through education. We can only empower them if they’re here, fully engaged and ready to learn. Our collective commitment to creating a school culture where children wake up excited to come to school is one of my greatest passions—and it is working. As a father myself, I know the challenge of getting children out of bed in the morning, but it’s so much easier when they are eager to come to school because they love being here.

This term has been filled with many moments that truly reflect the unique spirit of Chilton. I’d like to start by celebrating our wonderful Reception children, who have now completed their first term with us! They’ve settled in beautifully and are now a key part of our Chilton family.

Our new 'Game Day' every Monday has been a huge hit, with children coming in full of enthusiasm and joy. Seeing their excitement at the start of the week has been a real highlight. Another special moment was our Harvest assemblies—our first chance this academic year to welcome you all back into school. The children's performances were fantastic, and they made us all incredibly proud.

And who could forget our Wednesday Wake and Shakes, discos, and all the fun-filled learning happening in classrooms every day? The energy and engagement this term have been exceptional, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you for contributing to this joyful, vibrant culture at Chilton. It truly is the most fun and exciting place to be, and that’s because of our shared commitment to making it so.

Looking ahead to next term, we have some exciting events on the horizon. Our first "Come Dine With Me" lunches are coming up, which are always such a highlight for both children and parents. And of course, we’ll soon be approaching that magical time of year—Christmas It’s always a special time at school, and I know the children will be buzzing with excitement as the festive season approaches.

Please find a list of important dates for next term below, and be sure to check our school blog pages for updates specific to your child’s class.

I wish you all a restful and wonderful half term break. We can't wait to see you back, bright and ready, on Monday 4th November!

Warm regards,
Mr. McAuley
