Maths

We have worked hard this week to understand a difficult concept of time.  We began the week by telling the time, using clocks to test each other and use the correct language.  Towards the end of the week, we used number lines to find durations of time.  Next week, we will move onto fractions (of shape, amounts and numbers).

English

We have read seven chapters of Skellig and are enthralled by the story so far.  The children have been desperate to read more and they have enjoyed breaking down the story to understand the concepts and themes.  In our writing, we described the dilapidated garage before moving on to describe the eerie man in the garage.  On Friday, we showcased our learning by writing a description of he wicked witch in Snow White.

Thematic

We have focussed on how we treat each other in our PSHE learning this week as it was World Kindness Day on Wednesday.  We discussed whether banter was unkind, bullying or funny and role-played scenarios.  We then considered the importance and value of empathy.  By 'walking in someone else's shoes', we were able to think about how people may be feeling in different situations.

We also experimented with 'Seesaw', an app that allows uses to follow set tasks from their teachers and comment on others' responses.  The children had great fun exploring the app and creating videos to complete the tasks.  In art, we explored the colour wheel and made tertiary colours from primary and secondary paints.

Please log onto Myon as your teacher has set two tasks for you.  This needs to be complete by next Wednesday please.  You can also quiz on the two books.
