The Gigantic Turnip

This term is flying past! Week 3 already and only 2 weeks until half term!

This week in Topic we have been reading the book 'The Gigantic Turnip'. We have acted out the story and taken on different roles. We have had a go at re-telling the story, which we were fantastic at. We have also been painting with different vegetables! This was messy but fun.

In maths this week, we have learnt about finding half. To do this we shared objects fairly between two people. We have made great progress with this throughout this week.

In English, we have been writing about what plants need to grow. We are trying to make our handwriting neater and trying to remember to use our finger spaces.

Next week, we are finishing off our Growth topic and starting our Minibeasts topic. This will start with our visit from Zoolab, which we are all very excited for.

Home learning task to be completed by Monday 20th May:

“My Home Town”

Where we grow up plays a huge part in our lives – shaping who we are, what we do, who we know and where we go! For your home learning project for ‘Good to be Me’, over the course of Term 5, we would like you to create something that tells us all about what ‘My Home Town’ means to you. This home learning can take any form – there is no right or wrong way but you can be as creative as you like!

Below are some photos to show some of the wonderful things we have been doing over the past week!
