We have made it to the end of Term 1! The children have all been such superstars this term. It has been a long term but their resilience has really shone through. We are so proud of each and every one of them.
In Maths this week, we have been continuing to subtract. We have used the part-part-whole models this week. They have learned that from a part-part-whole model, they can write two subtraction calculations e.g.
5 - 3 = 2
5 – 2 = 3
This week we have been learning about jobs from the past and present. The children had lots of fun learning about the types of jobs which were around a long time ago! We have also been learning about Mary Seacole and the children have done some amazing writing about her. Many thanks for the amazing costumes which the children came to school in to celebrate our exit point. They looked fabulous!
- You should receive an email to RSVP to the parent-teacher consultations. Please RSVP to this invitation so that you can join the meeting. If you have requested a phone call, you may not get one of these emails. If there are any problems when connecting to the Teams Meeting, we will telephone you instead (so please do not panic if your internet is down on the day or you are experiencing any problems).
- Our topic next term is ‘Weather Around the World’. You could start to discuss the weather that we have over the October half term holiday (hopefully there will be some sunshine!). You could discuss words such as: weather, rain, rainfall, sun, storm, hurricane, wind, sun, sunshine. This is just a discussion activity – no need to record anything at all!
We hope that you have a lovely and relaxing half term break. Many thanks for your continued support. If you have any questions, please send an email (email addresses are on the school newsletters).
