One Childhood, One Chance

Weekly news! Week beginning 20.09.21

Please enter an introduction for your blog post here.

Year 1 have been working their socks off this week!

In maths, we have been learning number bonds to 10. This is when we add two numbers together to make 10. They have also been writing the calculations down using symbols. We have enjoyed learning our number bonds through games, using our fingers and cubes.

In Topic we have been learning about jobs from the past and present. This week, a nurse came to visit us! She answered our questions about her job and what she has to do to look after people. We have looked at jobs in the past in contrast and discovered that Mary Seacole was also a nurse but her practice was different to how nurses work now. We have been writing about Mary Seacole and her experiences, we even found out that she used herbs as medicine.

Love to Learn: Write as many number bonds to ten as you can! Use bright colours and as a challenge write what a number bond to ten means.

Next week:

We have a paramedic visiting on Thursday!

The 1st of October from 3:25 until 5:00pm is our fundraising event held on the field, we would love to see you there!

School photos will now be the 19th October, please bring jumpers/cardigans.
