Although we teach reading at school through our guided reading sessions, the reading that children complete at home with their parents or carers has a real positive impact on their progress. Reading is a vital skill that enables a child to access the rest of the curriculum and we would like to thank the families who are already reading regularly with their child. If you could make the time to read with your child at least 3 times a week for ten minutes, it will have such a fantastic effect on their reading and writing skills and help them in everything they do at school. We would be hoping that the children would have read at least 25 times by now, if not more.
