English

This week in English, we have rewritten the book Lila and the Secret of the Rain. We used this opportunity to learn to develop settings, characters and plot. We also began to use paragraphing in our work to organise our ideas.

Maths

In Maths, we have been learning how to multiply using the column method. Some of us were able to multiply 1 digit by 2 and 3 digit numbers using this method.

Topic

We have learnt about how iron took over as the main source of material for tool making. We made a poster showing how iron is far superior to bronze and how it helped develop farming around Britian. We also learnt how to create a timeline showing the progression of prehistoric man.

Love to Learn

We would like you to create something from the prehistoric era. For example: a shield or a piece of jewellery. You can bring this in on Wednesday on it's own or incorporated into your costume.

Spellings

Mr Mason's group: Imperfect, immature, immortal, impatient, impossible, independent.

Mrs Cousins group: Fastest, widest, quickest, wiser, larger, louder.

Reminder

Prehistoric dress up day on Wednesday 12th February. Parents and carers are invited to take part in a quiz in the classrooms at 2:45.
