One Childhood, One Chance

Weekly Blog Post 23/4/21

English

We have started our new book for the term, Charlotte's Web. We have read the first 3 chapters and written diary entries to show different character's points of view on the events that have transpired. We have used fronted adverbials to give our sentences more meaning and convey more information.

Maths

This week, we have returned to place value. We have been looking at showing numbers in various ways, including Base 10, place value counters, part part whole, words and numerals. We have also worked on estimating numbers on a number line and how to show different measurements using place value.

PSHE

We have started this term's new PSHE focus which is Good To Be Me. We read the book Ruby Finds A Worry, which teaches us that talking to others about our worries can help shrink them and make them more manageable. We created worry trees that tell us what to do when we have a worry and worry boxes to use at home when we want to write our worries down.
