This week we have continued to retell the story of Ice place. We finished with our problem where Ivan deals with all of Starjik’s evil tricks and then finally meets him. We also wrote our resolution and ending where Starjik was turned good due to Ivan throwing magical pips at him. We concentrated on inverted commas when writing dialogue and showing action between Ivan and Starjik.

Maths

This week we have been working on statistics. We revisited bar charts and introduced time and line graphs. The children understood the different axis and how they needed to label their graphs. We ended the week by giving the children different statics that they had to put in to charts and graphs.

TOPIC

We have continued to work on our Egyptian topic ‘Walk Like an Egyptian’ but this week concentrated on the River Nile. On Monday, we took notes about all the different facts the children knew about the river. Wednesday, we began to use secondary sources and created our own River Nile’s, some of the results are amazing! We finished the week of by looking at hieroglyphics.

Love to learn

This week we would like you to create your own Egyptian poster. It can include all the facts you have learnt about ancient Egypt so far. Include the Nile and hieroglyphics!
