Chilton Primary School

One Childhood, One Chance

Chilton Charity Champs!

Children at Chilton Primary School in Ramsgate have once again pulled out all the stops with generous donations for good causes.

Pupils and their families with support from staff have gathered together a mini mountain of tins and packets of food, which was arranged in the school hall where it swamped the stage, awaiting collection from the Salvation Army.

And the pupils used their creative talents to make and design mini houses with money slots in the roofs. They collected coins in them and the tiny piggy bank homes will be donated to Porchlight, the charity that works with the homeless and vulnerable people.

The charity initiatives form part of the school’s annual Harvest Festival celebrations.

Head of School Kate Law said: “It was a magnificent effort for two extremely deserving causes that we have supported for the last three years.

“Our children and families support a number of worthwhile causes throughout each school year and we are always keen to reinforce our community responsibility for those less fortunate than ourselves – it is one of the many life lessons we instil in our pupils to give them strong values as they grow.”

The spectacular display in the hall was arranged by Teaching Assistants at Chilton, which is part of the Viking Academy Trust with Upton Junior school in Broadstairs and Ramsgate Arts Primary.
