One Childhood, One Chance

Weekly News! w/b 3.10.22

What a wonderful week we have had!

Read, Write Inc

This week continued our Read, Write Inc. lessons. We are working so hard and really focussing on our writing.

In each reading folder, there is a sound card and list of red words. Any practise with these at home would be extremely helpful and support your child’s reading and writing at home.

Maths

This week in maths we have been working on subtraction! We have been breaking up numbers using cube to help us subtract. We then moved on our learning to using our number bonds to support us. We are getting so good at using the part, part, whole model now. Check out our wonderful work!

Topic

This week in Topic we have been focussing on Geography. We have been learning about human and physical geographical features of our hometown, and are beginning to find where it is on a map of the UK. We have written letters to baby bear, which was based on the Jolly Postman and have been mapping routes out on a map. We also looked at jobs within our school! We even got to interview Mrs Law, Mrs Horton (From the office) and Chloe our school chef!

Next week:

Next week we will be continuing to work hard on our sounds, reading and writing in our Read, Write Inc lessons.

In Maths, we will be continuing our learning about subtraction and different ways to work calculations out.

In Topic, we will be focussing on DT. We will be making our own emergency vehicles and hopefully seeing one in real life!

Love to Learn:

This week we would love for you to write a letter or postcard to someone! We would love for you to include two red words!

This can be recorded in any way you wish.
