Weekly News W/b Monday 5th December - Team Royal and Team Indigo
English
In English this week we have been looking at writing a diary entry. We started the week by looking at emotive adjectives, past tense and rhetorical questions. We then put all of these writing skills together to create diary entries!
Maths
In Maths this week, we have been looking at money! We started the week by recognising the coins and their amounts. We moved on to adding up coins and making amounts with coins in a variety of ways and finished the week by finding change and started solving money problems. Next week we will be continuing with money.
Thematic Curriculum
This week we have finished off our Thematic Curriculum topic of The Greatest Showman! We started the week by finishing off our Design Technology learning by evaluating our big top tent. We then completed our end of topic quiz where we had to answer questions about things that we had learnt this term. Today we completed our retrieval lesson where we helped each other with any knowledge that we found tricky.

Christmas Party
Our party is on 15th December please could you bring in the following food for our year 2 classes:
Red Romans - savoury
Blue Vikings -sweet
Green Normans - crisps
Yellow Saxons - Fruit
The children will be able to come into school in their party clothes, but please remember sensible attire and footwear.
We need your help!
Next term our thematic curriculum will be covering Passion for Fashion, where we will be making our own clothes out of recyclable resources! If over Christmas you have any spare materials, tin foil, unused bin bags, bottle caps of various sizes, rolls, newspaper etc. we would love for you to donate these items to us for term 3.
PE
There is no PE or Sports Project on the last week of term Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th December.
Nativity
Please may we have costumes in school clearly labelled in a named bag by Tuesday 6th December.
