Weekly news! 15.12.23
Wow, what a super duper, festive, busy week it’s been!
Firstly we would like to say a ginormous well done to our Year 2 super stars, who not only smashed their Christmas performance, but showed wonderful courage, humour and resilience! We could not be prouder if we tried. Julia Donaldson will be calling us up to showcase our version of Stick Man without a doubt!
In English this week we all looked at writing letters as characters. We focused our learning on writing in first person as Stick Man and wrote letters to Father Christmas thanking him for helping saving us but also a Christmas list.
In Maths, we focused on Christmas money problem solving! We had to total amount of gifts, find change for a small amount and ‘pay’ for Christmas treats using money. We had lots of fun!
In RE, we learnt how Christians celebrate Christmas all around the world. We learnt that not all places celebrate Christmas on the 25th December, Christians in different countries eat different Christmas meals such as in Australia some people may have BBQ’s and how even though everyone celebrates in a different way, Christians all celebrate the same thing, the birth of Jesus.
Dates to remember...
Term 3 starts for Children Wednesday 3rd January.
Thank you for all your support, kindness, and generosity this term. We truly hope you all have a magical Christmas and a happy and healthy new year.
Miss Davey, Miss Hall and Mrs Barlow.
