Love to Learn:
As next week we are going on our trip to Monkton Nature Reserve, we would like the children to get a head start. Can they spend some time outside, either at the park or in the garden and see what types of insects, plants and tress they can find? Record what they find and we can discuss before Tuesday.
In maths this week, the children have been learning about statistics. We began the week by looking at different graphs and charts with a variety of different scales. The children had to read the scales and understand what they needed to do next to answer the question. They had to read the questions and the scale carefully. The children also looked at the recording of change over time through time graphs. They interpreted the time graphs to answer problems about them.
In English, the children continued reading the book ‘A pebble in my pocket and also continued their historic setting descriptions. Throughout their historic settings this week, the children concentrated on complex and compound sentences.
In Topic, the children continued to look at Geography including Spain and England. We looked at human and physical features in the two countries and used 8-point compass points to show where cites were in reference to Madrid.
We also had an amazing day today for our World Book Day. Seeing the children loving reading was amazing to see.
Have a lovely a weekend
