Safer Internet Day 2023 is on 7th February 2023, and will be celebrated with the theme “Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations about life online”.
Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, Safer Internet Day sees thousands of organisations get involved to promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.
As part of the Safer Internet Day 2023 campaign, we want to hear young people’s voices about their lives online.
We have created a video wall on our website where any young person aged 7-18 can upload a short film they have created about their online experiences – what they like, what they don’t like and what they would change if they could on the Internet.
Your video should not cause offence, or upset others.
Your video should not damage the reputation of others
You must have the copyrights for any images, audio and videos you use.
Your video must not convey, or contain, any offensive or illegal gestures or activity.
Your video must not advertise a video or service.
Your video should only feature, and be captured by, someone aged between 7 and 18.
Your video can be horizontal or vertical.
Check your lighting.
Check your sound quality.
Think about what’s on show: are you giving any personal information away?
Stick to one or two key points.
Do you want to show your face? You could just make a video with audio and a picture!
