PSHE and Healthy Relationships
Our PSHE curriculum draws upon our own contextual knowledge of our children and their needs. Alongside this, we use the curriculum guidance outlined by the PSHE Association and the statutory guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education 2020 and Teaching Online Safety in Schools.
Each new term begins with learning focused on PSHE and our school Values (Respect, Equality, Courage and Kindness). These weeks use objectives drawn from the aforementioned documentation and outline learning for each year group at age appropriate levels. Weaved throughout this learning are themes surrounding well-being, diversity and citizenship. British Values are revisited across the year and taught explicitly in Term 4.
For the academic year 2020-21, PSHE and Values learning is focused as follows:
-
One Childhood, One Chance and The Chilton Way
-
Kindness & Healthy Relationships (In a world where you can be anythign, be kind)
-
Champions of Courage & Healthy Relationships (Online Safety)
-
British Values
-
Good to be Me!
-
Aspiration & Healthy Relationships (Your Words Can Hurt)
