Maths
This week in maths, we have been exploring statistics. The children have been busy learning how to read and interpret bar charts and line graphs, as well as how to present their own data using these graphs. It has been wonderful to see them confidently analyse information and draw conclusions from the data presented.
Next week, we will be moving on to measuring length, where the children will learn different units of measurement and practice accurately measuring objects in both centimetres and metres.
English
In English this week, our focus has been on poetry. The children have been experimenting with alliteration, onomatopoeia, and personification in their poems, bringing their ideas to life with vivid language. Their creativity and enthusiasm have really shone through in their writing!
Next week, we will be exploring haikus and tankas, giving the children the opportunity to practise structured forms of poetry and continue developing their expressive writing skills.
Thematic
Our thematic learning this week has continued to focus on the Ancient Egyptians. We explored the significance of art and the importance of architecture in ancient Egyptian society. As a fun and hands-on activity, the children even built their own pyramids, helping them to understand how these incredible structures were designed and constructed.
Next week, we will turn our attention to science, learning about different food chains and the relationships between plants, herbivores, and predators in various ecosystems.
Love to learn
This week, we would like the children to gather information for a bar chart or time graph. This could be asking family and friends about favourite colours for a bar chart or gathering mms of rain. You can choose! We would then like the children to create their own bar chart or line graph to show it.
