Chilton Primary School

One Childhood, One Chance

Head's Up 30th January 2026

Dear Families,

I would like to begin by thanking you all for your continued enthusiasm and support for everything that is happening around school at the moment. Your positivity and engagement make a real difference to our community, and it does not go unnoticed.

This week has seen significant success for us at Chilton Primary School. We are incredibly proud to share that we have been selected by the Department for Education as one of only 90 schools across the country to become a Lead School for excellent attendance and behaviour practice, supporting and sharing good practice across the South East.

This achievement is a testament to the hard work that has taken place at Chilton over many years. It also reflects the vital role you play as families, supporting the school’s approaches to attendance and behaviour every day. Thank you for working so closely with us — this success truly belongs to our whole community.

Over the coming weeks, your children may notice more visitors around school. These colleagues will be joining us from schools across the region to learn from the excellent practice that takes place here at Chilton. We hope you feel as proud as we do to be part of this ongoing success story.

Looking ahead to next week, we are excited to celebrate one of the highlights of the year — Number Day! On Friday, children are invited to dress up to take part in a day full of numbers, maths, and fun. Please check your child’s class blog for further details.

Thank you once again for a wonderful week. Have a great weekend, and we look forward to seeing you all next week.

Warm regards,
Mr McAuley
