Weekly News - 26.01.26

We have had an action-packed week this week. Year 3 have been learning how to weave action and dialogue into our writing in English. We have also been learning to subtract with exchanging.
Maths
In Maths this week, we have recapped our learning of column subtraction and have developed our skills, we have learnt to exchange when subtracting (this is our home learning this week). Next week we will be learning To make 3-D shapes using different modelling materials and recognising 3-D shapes in different orientations. We will also be celebrating NSPCC Number Day on Friday, don’t forget to dress as a rockstar!
English
This week in English, we have been learning how to weave dialogue and action into a narrative. Next week we will be starting our final book of the term Gorilla by Anthony Browne, we will be focusing on developing our letter writing skills using formal language and organising our writing into paragraphs.
Thematic
In Thematic this week we started our Design and technology learning, we thought surveyed, tested, planned, made and evaluated the nations favourite snack, a sandwich. Next week in Thematic, we are going to be learning about links and levers.
Art
If you are fan of being out in nature and would like to show off your photography skills, you might be interested in the competition outlined below:
Bird Wise East Kent and Thanet Coast Project have teamed up to host a photography competition. There is a category for under 18s with the winner and runner up having their work displayed in Margate, Whitstable and Ramsgate. The deadline is midnight on Sunday 15th February.
