Weekly News –09.03.26

We have worked really hard this week in Year 3! We have been dividing, writing setting descriptions, printing in art and loads more.
Maths
This week in Maths we focused on developing our division skills. We explored different ways to divide numbers, including sharing, grouping, and using the bus stop method. Next week we will be learning about statistics. We will practise reading and interpreting information presented in tables, and will use this information to solve one-step and two-step problems.
English
This week in English we have been writing setting descriptions. We described a funfair setting, focusing on using the five senses to help bring our writing to life. By thinking about what we might see, hear, smell, feel, and even taste, we were able to create more vivid and engaging descriptions. Next week we will focus on writing in the past tense and begin using figurative language in our writing. This will help us make our work more expressive and imaginative as we continue to develop our descriptive writing skills.
Thematic
This week in Thematic we learned about how the Romans invaded Britain, exploring when the invasions took place and why the Romans wanted to expand their empire.
Next week we will continue our learning about the Romans. We will explore why the Romans built Hadrian’s Wall, learn about Roman clothing, and discover the story of Boudica and her rebellion against the Roman army.
