Head's Up 20th March 2026

Dear Families,
What a wonderfully sunny week it has been! The bright weather has certainly lifted all of our spirits and brought a real sense of positivity across the school. It has been fantastic to see the children enjoying their learning with such energy and enthusiasm.
The sunshine provided the perfect backdrop for our Year 1 visit to Manor House Forest School at Quex. The children had an incredible time den building, toasting marshmallows, and immersing themselves in the great outdoors. It truly was a wonderful trip, and I hope you enjoyed seeing the photos shared on our social media.

Today, we marked Comic Relief with our “Wear Something Funny for Money” day. It has been brilliant to see so many creative and amusing outfits across the school! Thank you all for your generous donations in support of such a fantastic cause.

Looking ahead to next week, we have a very busy and exciting schedule:
-
Monday: Year 3 will be stepping back in time for their Roman Day—I am really looking forward to seeing the children dressed up and taking part in the exciting activities planned.
-
Tuesday: Reception will be visiting Quex Farm as part of their outdoor learning. Fingers crossed the sunshine continues for them!
-
Wednesday: Another day of dressing up, with Year 5 celebrating Ancient Greece Day and Year 6 taking part in their WWII Day. Year 3 will also be heading out for their swimming session.
-
Thursday: Reception return to Quex for more outdoor learning experiences.
-
Friday: Our speaker finalists will represent Chilton at the Royal Harbour—best of luck to them! Families are also invited into school from 3 o'clock until 3:30pm to look at their child’s learning ahead of Parent Teacher Consultations in the final week of term.
In addition, next week we will be celebrating ‘Rock Your Socks’ Day, where we encourage everyone to wear wild, whacky or odd socks to raise awareness for Down Syndrome Awareness Day.

It certainly promises to be an exciting and memorable week for everyone!
Thank you once again for your continued support and for contributing to such a positive and vibrant school community. Have a wonderful weekend, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back bright and early on Monday morning.
