One Childhood, One Chance

Head's Up 27th March 2026

Dear Families,

What a truly wonderful week it has been at Chilton — without doubt one of our most joyous yet!

Our corridors have been filled with excitement, imagination and some absolutely amazing costumes. On Monday, Year 3 transported us back to Roman times with shields, togas and helmets galore. On Wednesday, Year 5 brought Ancient Greece to life with incredible outfits, while Year 6 helped us reflect on history with their thoughtful and authentic World War II evacuee costumes. The effort, creativity and enthusiasm from the children was fantastic, and we are so grateful to you, our families, for the time and care you put into helping make these experiences so memorable.

Reception have also had a brilliant week on their farm trip to Quex Park. The children loved stroking and feeding the animals and, of course, enjoyed some well-earned fun on the park afterwards! A huge thank you to the parent volunteers who joined us — you made the trip possible, and we hope you had just as much fun as the children did.

Today, we are very excited for the Trust Speaker Final taking place at Royal Harbour Academy. Children from across the Trust are competing for the prestigious Speaker Award. We are incredibly proud of all of our pupils who took part in the earlier rounds and especially proud of those representing Chilton today. We will be keeping everything crossed for a Chilton win!

Looking ahead to next week, our Year 3 children will be visiting the cinema to watch The Magic Faraway Tree. Having explored this wonderful story in class this term, this will be a fantastic opportunity to see the story brought to life on the big screen.

On Wednesday, we have our fabulous Easter Bonnet Parade. Please check your child’s class blog for the timings.

Thursday is the last day of term and will be a non-school uniform day. Our PTA have also organised an ‘Egg-cellent’ sponsored event for the children. Please take a look at your child’s class blog for more details on how to get involved!

Thank you again for your continued support in making Chilton such a special place to learn and grow.

Have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing you all next week.

Warmest wishes,
Mr McAuley
