Chilton’s Champion Football Festival Champs

Young footballers at Chilton Primary in Ramsgate are celebrating that winning feeling.
The team triumphed in a challenging tournament for Year3 and Year 4 children run by the Thanet Primary Association for School Sport.
Matches were played at Margate FC’s Hartsdown Park stadium and saw top teams from around the area come together in a fantastic festival of football.
Chilton were in fine form throughout with a strong defence, busy midfield and rapier-like finishing from the strikers.
The side won all four of its matches, recording impressive victories against Dame Janet 2-0, St Gregory’s 5-1, Cliftonville 3-2 and Garlinge 5-0.
Defender Ricky was praised for his solid performances and won the title player of the day – all players received a commemorative medal marking their success.
Deputy head of School Hannah Cheshire said: “We are very proud of our footballers.
“They faced tough opponents in a festival that featured many strong teams from around the district.
“Our team played with style and determination. The enthusiasm, commitment and flair were evident – to win all four games they played shows strong consistency.
“They were fine ambassadors for the school and played with a friendly and fair spirit, which is what we instil in all of our sports at Chilton.”
