Chilton Primary School

One Childhood, One Chance

Head's Up 12th June 2026

Dear Families,

As we reach the end of another wonderful week at Chilton Primary School, I would like to take a moment to thank you all for your engagement, support, and participation in school life. The strength of our school community is one of the things that makes Chilton such a special place, and it has been fantastic to see so many families involved throughout the week.

The week got off to a tremendous start with our Year 6 children enjoying their adventurous trip to Boonies. From all accounts, they had an incredible time, and the extensive mud slide certainly added to what can only be described as a wonderfully wet and wild day! The children represented the school brilliantly, embracing every challenge with enthusiasm, resilience, and plenty of smiles.

I would also like to thank everyone who joins us for Wake and Shake each Wednesday morning. It really is one of the highlights of my week. Whilst I often joke about encouraging the children (and sometimes adults!) to get up and dance with me, Wake and Shake is about so much more than that. It is a chance for us all to come together as a community, enjoy each other's company, and start the day with positivity and energy.

I genuinely value those moments of connection as we share a cup of tea or coffee, enjoy a biscuit, and catch up before the school day begins. If you have not yet joined us, please do come along to the lower playground one Wednesday morning. I promise I will not force you to dance, but I will happily offer you a tea, coffee, and a biscuit!

Please note that next week's Wake and Shake will take place on Tuesday morning instead of Wednesday. We have visitors coming to see the wonderful community spirit that Wake and Shake creates, so it would be fantastic to see as many of you there as possible to help showcase what makes Chilton so special.

Yesterday, we were treated to our Year 2 class assembly. The children made us incredibly proud and, as is always the case, it was a real spectacle to behold. Their confidence, enthusiasm, and hard work shone through, and I would like to thank the staff and families who supported them in preparing for such a memorable performance.

Looking ahead to next week, we begin our popular Come Dine Picnics, starting with Year 6 on Thursday. These events provide another wonderful opportunity for families to spend time together and celebrate the children's learning and achievements.

We are also very much looking forward to our Reception Class Assembly on Thursday at 2:45pm. I know the children have been working hard in preparation, and I am sure it will be another fantastic occasion.

Finally, I would like to wish you all a magnificent weekend. Thank you once again for your continued support and for being such an important part of our Chilton community.

We look forward to seeing everyone bright and early on Monday morning for Game Day!

With best wishes,

Mr McAuley
