Head's Up 26th June 2026

Dear Families,
As we come to the end of another incredibly busy and exciting week, I would like to take a moment to thank you all for your continued support, understanding and trust.

This week has been packed with picnics, trips, assemblies and special events, all while we have been navigating the challenges of the very warm weather. We are extremely grateful for the confidence you place in us as we work hard to provide children with memorable experiences whilst ensuring their safety and wellbeing remain our highest priority.
Balancing the fun, excitement and enrichment opportunities that make school life so special with the need to respond to changing weather conditions requires constant review, adaptation and, on occasion, difficult decisions. Whether that means altering plans, changing timings or, in some cases, cancelling activities, we always strive to find the right balance for your children. Thank you for your patience, understanding and support as we do so.
Looking ahead, we have another busy and exciting week planned.
On Monday at 2:45pm, we will be holding an information meeting for our current Year 4 families about next year’s French residential trip. I am genuinely excited to share details of this wonderful opportunity and look forward to seeing many of you there.
On Tuesday, we have our annual Music Evening, where our talented young musicians will have the opportunity to showcase their hard work and achievements. This is always a fantastic celebration of the arts at Chilton.
On Wednesday afternoon, Mr Wheeler will be launching his much-anticipated ‘Big Fat Quiz’ for Year 4. Please keep an eye on the school blog for further details and timings.
On Thursday, we have two special events taking place:
-
Year 3 Come Dine Picnic
-
Year 1 Class Assembly at 2:45pm
Then, on Friday, we finish the week with one of the highlights of the school year – our fantastic Summer Fayre. This is always a wonderful community event and a chance for families, staff and children to come together and celebrate another successful year at Chilton.

Thank you once again for all of your support this week and for continuing to keep up to date with the many events and opportunities taking place across the school. The coming weeks are always some of the busiest of the year, and your engagement and encouragement make such a difference.
Have a wonderful weekend and, if the sunshine continues, please remember to stay cool and enjoy some time together as a family.
Mr McAuley
