Dear Families,

As we come to the end of another exceptionally busy week, I would like to thank you all for your continued support and participation in the life of Chilton Primary School. It has been a fantastic week, filled with memorable events, and we are so grateful to have shared them with so many of you.

This week we enjoyed our final Come Dine Picnics and class assemblies of the year. These were wonderful occasions, celebrating our children and the amazing work they have accomplished. It was fantastic to see so many families attending these events—thank you for taking the time to join us and make them so special.

The hot weather on Tuesday meant we had to make the difficult decision to postpone our Year 6 production by one day. However, our Year 6 children didn’t let that phase them for a moment! They delivered a barnstorming opening performance on Wednesday, followed by an incredibly emotional finale on Thursday. Based on The Greatest Showman, the production celebrated the themes of courage, talent and individuality. Our Year 6 pupils embodied every one of those qualities, and we could not be prouder of each and every one of them. They have created memories that will stay with us for years to come.

We have also thoroughly enjoyed this year’s Sports Mornings. For the first time, we held these over two mornings rather than across a full day. This decision was made many months ago during the winter, with the intention of protecting our children from the intensity of the summer afternoon sun. I am pleased that so many of you agreed it was the right decision. Competing during the cooler morning temperatures, with opportunities to enjoy the shade when needed, helped ensure the children could perform at their very best. At both events, our pupils conducted themselves impeccably, demonstrating the sporting values that we hold so dearly at Chilton. Well done to everyone who took part, and thank you to all the families who came along to cheer them on.

It truly has been an incredible week, and I cannot thank you enough for the support, kindness and encouragement you continue to show our school community every single day. It makes an enormous difference.

A quick reminder that next week is our Transition Week. On Monday morning, please bring your child to their current classroom as usual. At the end of the day, however, they will be collected from their new classroom. Please watch my latest Heads-Up video, where I explain exactly where each class will be located. On Tuesday and Wednesday, children should be dropped off and collected from their new classrooms before returning to their normal arrangements on Thursday.
