A very warm welcome back to all our Year 2 families! We hope you’ve had a wonderful summer. We are so excited to welcome the children back to Team Sky and Team Ocean at Chilton Primary School.
We have had a fantastic first two days together, getting to know each other, settling back into routines and, importantly, introducing and cementing our new culture policy. The children have taken to it really well and are already showing us how ready they are to make positive choices and follow theChilton Way.
Our 4 Steps
We will use these steps consistently and positively:
Step 1 – Check In: Are you OK? Can we help?
Step 2 – Reminder: We remind the child of the rule and check that they are OK.
Step 3 – Chance to Change: A ‘Chance to Change’ card gives the child one final, positive opportunity to follow our rules and make a better choice.
Step 4 – Stop and Share: Parents and SLT are contacted and a logical consequence is given.
We have also been focusing on PSHE, under our termly theme ‘One Childhood, One Chance.’ Throughout the term, we will continue developing children’s understanding of:

Term 1 Dates for your Diary
8th September – Year 1 and 2 Meet the teacher at 2.45pm - This is an opportunity to meet your child’s teaching team and get to hear about what to expect in the year ahead.
18th September – Welcome to Reception parents meeting in hall at 2.30pm
25th September – Chilton Fundraisers Family Quiz (more details to follow from the Chilton Fundrasiers)
7th October - Harvest Festival for Year 2 at 9am and year 1 at 2.45pm
23rd October – Halloween Disco – All children come to school in fancy dress. Year 1, 2 and 3 Disco from 2pm-3pm and year 4, 5 and 6 disco from 3.15-4.15
23rd October – Final day of term
