Maths
This week in Maths, we have continued to develop our skills using the column method, focusing on subtraction. We began by practising how to use the column method to subtract numbers accurately, before moving on to the challenge of finding missing numbers. The children have worked hard to apply their understanding and build their confidence throughout the week.
Next week, we will be moving on to multiplication and division.
English
In English, we have been writing information texts about robots, linked to our learning about Iron Man. We have explored the key features of an information report and begun putting these into practice in our own writing. We have have been using titles, subheadings and a range of sentence types, including the four sentence types, as well as complex and compound sentences, to make their writing interesting and informative.
Next week, we will continue working on our information texts, developing and finishing our reports.
Thematic
In Thematic, we have been learning about the pitch of sounds and exploring what affects how high or low a sound is. We have discovered that higher-pitched sounds are caused by quicker vibrations, helping us to understand the science behind the sounds we hear every day.
Next week, we will be moving on to our RE learning.

Love to Learn
During the week, we created our own panpipe using different length straws and tape. Can you now create your own musical instrument? It could be shakers, something with elastic bands. It is up to you!
