Dear Families,

What an exciting and eventful week it has been at Chilton!

Thank you all for your continued participation, encouragement and support – it really has made all the difference during what has been a very busy time for the whole school community.

The Viking Games have come to a brilliant conclusion, with our Year 3 & 4 children visiting Upton yesterday to take part in the final events. Despite the weather trying its best to interfere, the children had a fantastic time and embraced the opportunity with their usual enthusiasm and spirit. It was a joy to see them getting stuck in and enjoying every moment – thank you to everyone who made that possible.

Today, we also want to wish our Year 4 children the very best of luck as they complete their Times Tables Check. They have worked hard and approached their learning with such determination – we are incredibly proud of them.

As you will be aware, we have also had Ofsted in school this week. I would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to all the parents and carers who completed the surveys and shared their thoughts. Your responses were overwhelmingly positive and very much appreciated. Your views matter deeply to me and, now that the inspection has concluded, please do continue to share your feedback on what we’re doing well and how we can keep improving.

Our children have truly shone this week – Ofsted were struck by the confidence our pupils showed and the depth of knowledge they were able to talk about. We were proud of them before the inspection, and even prouder after.

Although this was an ungraded Section 8 inspection, a report will still be published within 35 working days. As soon as it has been finalised, we will, of course, share it with you.

At the end of such a full and fast-paced week, I want to sincerely thank you for all the support you continue to give – to your children, to the adults here at Chilton, and even to me personally. Your kind words and encouragement every day mean more than I can say, and they give me the drive and passion to keep pushing for the very best for Chilton.

Have a well-earned, restful weekend.

Warmest wishes,
Mr McAuley
