One Childhood, One Chance

Head's Up 3rd October 2025

Dear Families,

Thank you once again for your positivity this week and for the continued support you give to your children’s education. It really makes such a difference to the energy and atmosphere across the school.

We have been very fortunate with the wonderful sunshine over the past few days – it has felt like we’ve been able to cling onto the tail end of summer a little longer, which has brought an extra spark of joy to our outdoor learning and play.

I am delighted to share that, thanks to your incredible generosity, our cake sale last week organised by Mrs King raised an amazing £3506.40 for Macmillan. This charity means so much to us, and I know to many of you too. Thank you all for your donations and support – it is truly appreciated.

In today’s communication, you will find the dates and times for our Term 2 Parent Teacher Consultations, which will be open for booking from Monday 6th at 6pm. These meetings are such an important opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher, reflect on their learning in Term 1, and talk about the term ahead. Ahead of this, on Tuesday 14th October, we will hold an Open Class Session, so that you can come in and see your child’s learning in action before the consultations. Please see the letter sent home for full details.

Next week also brings our much-loved Harvest Festival assemblies, which mark the first performance opportunities of the year. I do hope to see many of you there to share in the celebrations with the children. A reminder that we are collecting donations for Harvest in aid of Thanet Food Link. Donations are welcome from now, but if possible please ensure final contributions are brought in by Monday.

May I also politely remind all families that children must wear the correct school P.E. kit on their P.E. days. This can be a plain white T-shirt, or one of our new Chilton P.E. T-shirts available from the Schoolwear Shop in Margate, along with appropriate shorts or joggers. Thank you for your support in helping us maintain high standards across the school.

Thank you as always for your support, generosity, and enthusiasm. I wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Warm regards,
Mr McAuley
