Chilton Primary School

One Childhood, One Chance

Head's Up 10th October 2025

Dear Families,

As we approach the end of Term 1, I want to take a moment to reflect on what an incredible start to the school year it has been. The energy, enthusiasm, and sense of community that fills our school every day is something truly special, and this term has been full of moments to celebrate.

Our Harvest Festival assemblies have been a real highlight of the term. Each one has been beautifully delivered by the children — confident, thoughtful, and full of joy. It’s always wonderful to see them take such pride in performing and to see so many of you joining us to celebrate. The effort and care that each class has put into their performances have been remarkable — thank you to the children, the staff, and of course to all the families for your continued support.

A special mention must also go to our Reception children, who have almost completed their very first term at Chilton! It’s hard to believe that just a few weeks ago they were beginning their school journey. They now feel completely part of the fabric of our Chilton family — making friends, growing in confidence, and showing such curiosity and joy in their learning. We can’t wait to see them continue to blossom over the years ahead.

This term has also been filled with wonderful trips and experiences that have really enriched the children’s learning. From visits that bring classroom topics to life, to local adventures that connect us with our community, it’s been inspiring to see how much these experiences enhance understanding and spark excitement.

We are also thrilled with the incredibly positive feedback surrounding the launch of our outdoor learning provision. Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have already begun their Forest School sessions, and it has been fantastic to see how much the children are gaining from this opportunity to explore, create, and learn through nature. For our older pupils, the upcoming residential trips planned for the next academic year are equally exciting — we know these will provide invaluable experiences and lifelong memories. More details will follow in due course, but we are already looking forward to what’s ahead!

As we head into the final week of Term 1, let’s make it every bit as positive, joyful, and celebratory as the past six weeks have been. The children have worked so hard, shown such kindness, and embodied the very best of what it means to be part of Chilton.

Thank you, as always, for your support, encouragement, and for being such an important part of our school community.

Have a wonderful final week of term — and let’s finish it on a high!

Warm regards,

Mr McAuley
