Chilton Primary School

One Childhood, One Chance

Head's Up 17th October 2025

Dear Families,

As we reach the end of our first term of this academic year, I want to take a moment to thank every one of you for a truly wonderful start. The energy, positivity and enthusiasm from our children and families have been exceptional. It’s been a joy to see such dedication to learning and such a strong sense of community across the school – thank you for everything you do to make Chilton such a special place.

Looking Ahead to Term 2

As we move into Term 2, there are a few key reminders to help us get off to a smooth start:

  • Thrive Play – Please remember to bring wellies for Thrive play sessions. If you’d like your child to wear waterproof trousers, that’s absolutely fine too – we know how unpredictable the weather can be!

  • Scooter Park – We’re excited that the scooter park will be back up and running next term. Please see the attached rota for your child’s designated days. To take part, children will need to bring their scooter from home, along with a helmet, elbow pads and knee pads.

  • Coats and Warm Clothing – As the weather turns colder and wetter, please make sure your child brings a suitable coat each day to stay warm and dry.

  • INSET Day – A reminder that Monday 27th October is an INSET Day, so children will not be in school.

  • Year 5 Swimming – Year 5 will begin swimming sessions from Week 1 of Term 2. Please ensure your child has their swimming hat, costume and towel. Payment for swimming can already be found under ‘Outstanding Payments’ on the MCAS app.

  • Parent–Teacher Consultations – These will take place during the first week back (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Time slots can be booked via the MCAS app, and we look forward to meeting with you to discuss your child’s progress.

  • Halloween Disco – We’ll round off that busy first week with our Halloween Disco on Friday – always a highlight of the autumn term!

Term 2 is always full of exciting events and opportunities. Please use the attached key dates list to stay on top of what’s coming up, and remember you can always keep up to date via the class blogs

Finally, I want to wish you all a wonderful half-term break. Enjoy the rest, make some special memories, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Tuesday 28th October.

Warm regards,

Mr McAuley
