Head's Up 5th December 2025

Dear Families,
Thank you all for another wonderful week at Chilton! Although it has certainly been a busy one, we know the coming days are about to become even busier as we move deeper into this festive season. The energy around school is fantastic, and that is very much down to your support and the enthusiasm of our children.
Today marked the end of our final Come Dine With Me cycle for the year. These events have been so warmly received and have truly become special moments of togetherness. Chloe and her brilliant kitchen team deserve a huge thank you — feeding an extra 120+ visitors on top of the 300 children they already cook for each day is no small feat! We are incredibly grateful for their hard work, and equally grateful to all of you who came along and made these lunches such joyful community occasions.

Year 5 have been out once again this week, returning to Pegwell Bay to continue gathering their data on migrating bird populations. Their commitment to understanding, protecting, and improving such an important environment is inspiring. Pegwell Bay is a uniquely significant habitat, and our Year 5 pupils are working brilliantly to learn how we can play our part in caring for the magnificent birds that pass through our coastline.

Reception also enjoyed a fantastic experience today with a visit from the fire brigade, who kindly brought along their fire engine. The children were thrilled to climb aboard, explore the equipment, and learn about the vital work our firefighters do to keep us safe. This linked beautifully with their learning about transport — and, this week, emergency vehicles in particular.

And speaking of Reception, we are very excited to share that Reception will be performing their Nativity assembly next Friday! This is always a magical and heartwarming moment in the school year, and we can’t wait to see our youngest pupils bring the Christmas story to life.
Looking ahead, next week promises to be just as lively, with another highlight on the horizon:
🎄 Our Christmas Fair – Wednesday, starting at 3:15pm and finishing at 4:30pm 🎄
This is always one of the most festive celebrations of the year, and we are very excited to welcome you all. There will be lots of stalls, activities, and seasonal fun for the whole family!
