One Childhood, One Chance

Head's Up 18th December 2025

Dear Families,

As we reach the end of term, this marks our final newsletter of 2025 — and what a year it has been.

Earlier this year, we were incredibly proud to welcome Ofsted to Chilton and to be judged Outstanding. Since then, we have continued to build on that success, making further improvements across the school. 2025 has very much been about confirming and cementing our status as an outstanding school, while continuing to strive to be even better. At Chilton, we are always looking forward.

As part of this journey, Chilton became the first school in Thanet to achieve an Area of Excellence, and more recently, we have been proud to achieve our second. These milestones reflect the consistent focus we place on what matters most: child wellbeing. Supporting our children’s emotional, social and academic development remains firmly at the top of our priorities, and we believe we are now supporting our children more effectively than ever before.

Earlier in the year, we also celebrated Chilton’s 50th birthday — a truly special moment in our history. Celebrating the joy that Chilton has brought to this community for half a century was phenomenal, and that joy continues every day through the children in our care. Alongside many powerful moments of academic success — from early phonics development to tackling complex mathematical challenges in Year 6 — our children have grown, matured and developed confidence, resilience and independence.

Our community events have played an important role throughout the year. From Harvest celebrations and Come Dine With Me, to Wake and Shake getting us off to such a positive start, these moments have helped shape the strong sense of belonging we are so proud of at Chilton. More recently, this festive period has been one to remember. The Christmas Fair, Nativity performances and church services have once again brought us together — which is truly what makes Chilton so special.

As we bring 2025 to a close, I would like to thank you for your continued support and partnership. I wish you all a wonderful holiday, a very Merry Christmas, and a happy New Year.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2026.

Warmest wishes,
Mr McAuley
