Chilton Primary School

One Childhood, One Chance

Head's Up 27th February 2026

Dear Families,

What a truly wonderful week it has been welcoming everyone back to Chilton Primary School. I would like to begin with a heartfelt thank you to all of you for your continued support in promoting and living out the vision and values of Chilton. The partnership between home and school is so important, and we are incredibly grateful for the role you play in helping our children flourish.

While we all cherish the holidays and the precious family time they bring, there is something very special about the moment the school gates open again. We genuinely miss the children when they are not here. Seeing all 420 of them return on Monday morning—full of smiles, eager to see their friends and teachers, ready to engage in their learning and, of course, have fun—was an absolute joy. The building felt complete once more.

Despite battling a slight cold this week, I have felt nothing but warmth and positivity around the school. There is a real sense of excitement for the term ahead and, with lighter mornings and brighter afternoons, the feeling that spring is just around the corner.

A huge shout-out must go to our Young Voices choir who represented Chilton so brilliantly on Monday at the O2 in London. What an incredible experience to perform at such an iconic venue! From everything I have heard, they had a truly wonderful time and did our school proud. Thank you to the staff and families who supported this fantastic opportunity.

Red Romans have also enjoyed their non-school uniform day today— which is testament to their achievements in showing the Chilton Way to earn the most house points last term.

As we look ahead, next Thursday is World Book Day, which is always one of the most exciting highlights of our academic calendar. We cannot wait to celebrate the joy of reading together and see the creativity on display.

Thank you once again for your continued support and for entrusting us with your wonderful children. I hope you all have a restful and enjoyable weekend.

Warmest wishes,

Mr McAuley
