Head's Up 13th March 2026

Dear Families,
As we reach the end of another busy week at Chilton Primary School, I would like to take a moment to thank you all for your continued support. It makes a tremendous difference to our school community and to the experiences of our children each and every day.
This week we were proud to welcome our first visit from School to School as part of our work as a leadership hub for the South East. We were delighted to host colleagues from a number of schools, with some travelling from as far afield as Essex to see the work taking place here at Chilton.

What stood out to our visitors most of all was our children. They were truly blown away by how our pupils live and breathe The Chilton Way, demonstrating our core values of Respect, Kindness, Courage and Equality in everything that they do. These values are at the heart of our school. They are the standards by which we judge ourselves, and we are relentless in promoting them as the way we want to be and the way we want our children to be.

Of course, this is only possible because of the partnership we have with you at home. The support you give in reinforcing these values is priceless. When children see the same expectations and principles both at school and at home, they truly begin to live and breathe them in their daily lives.

I would also like to thank you for all the small things that make such a big difference. As a keen cycling fan, I often look to Dave Brailsford as a source of leadership inspiration. His philosophy is that if you focus on lots of small gains, together they add up to something very powerful.
The same is true in school. The small things you do every day—ensuring your children arrive on time, in the correct school uniform, with their reading records, and with their P.E. kits on the right days—have a huge impact. These simple routines help our days run smoothly and support your children to get the very best out of their time at school. So again, thank you very much for everything you do.
Thank you once again for your continued support this week. I wish you all a wonderful weekend and I look forward to another exciting week at Chilton next week.

Kind regards,
Mr McAuley
