One Childhood, One Chance

Head's Up 24th April 2026

Dear Families,

Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break. The weather was certainly on our side, and I hope it gave you and your children the rest and recuperation we all needed at this point in the year.

Thank you for the positive way in which you have supported your children in transitioning back to school. It has been lovely to see them return with such positivity and gusto—it really has set the tone for a fantastic start to the term.

This term, our PSHE focus is on Be Here, Be You, Belong, alongside our specific theme this year: “Say it loud, say it proud.” This is all about celebrating who we are—encouraging every child to feel proud of their individuality, their passions, and their interests. We want our children to grow in confidence, to embrace what makes them unique, and to feel a true sense of belonging within our school community. We will be exploring this theme throughout the term, culminating in our fantastic parade in the final week—something we are all really looking forward to!

Many of you may have noticed the exciting developments on our top field. We are currently in the process of installing a pond, which we hope will help bring even more wildlife onto our school site. Not only will this create an oasis for local wildlife, but it will also provide wonderful opportunities for our children to explore and study the natural world around them. We are incredibly grateful to S C Heating, whose bronze sponsorship has made this fantastic learning resource possible. If you are looking for a trusted, local heating and plumbing company, we encourage you to get in touch with them.

You may also have spotted our new Pétanque pitch (French bowls), which we know will be hugely popular at lunchtimes once the equipment arrives! It will also provide additional opportunities within P.E. This exciting addition has been made possible thanks to the silver sponsorship from Mr Arthur’s CGA company. If you are interested in football training or holiday camps, we encourage you to explore his services.

These developments are great examples of the enormous impact sponsorship is having at Chilton. If you or your business would like to be part of this, please do get in touch or follow the link to find out more.

Please remember that the Rock Choir will be performing at Chilton on Saturday, 9th May. All the proceeds will go to Chilton, but that is not the only reason to go. It will be a remarkable and memorable performance! Tickets are available via the MCAS app. Please get yours before they sell out!

It has already been a wonderful start to Term 5, with sunny wake-and-shakes and a fantastic Year 1 workshop exploring toys, even including the opportunity for the children to make their own toy to take home. The fun never stops at Chilton!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
