One Childhood, One Chance

Head's Up 5th June 2026

Dear Families,

Thank you all for such a smooth transition back to school following what was a glorious May Half Term break. I had tried my best to arrange for the sunshine to continue this week; unfortunately, my requests appear not to have been heard!

It has been a wonderful first week back at Chilton, filled with exciting opportunities for our children. Our Year 6 pupils, now with their SATs behind them, have enjoyed a range of activities including visits to Elevate and the Ramsgate Tunnels. While the weather has unfortunately caused some postponements to their planned activities, I can assure you that they will not miss out on the fun and experiences that have been organised for them.

Yesterday also saw our first New to Reception 2026-27 session. This is always such an exciting time of year. While we continue to celebrate the achievements and successes of our current children, we also begin planning for the next generation of Chilton pupils who will join us in September. It is wonderful to welcome new faces and begin new Chilton journeys. At the same time, this period is always tinged with emotion as we begin to prepare to say farewell to our Year 6 pupils, many of whom have been part of our school family for seven years.

Looking ahead, next week promises to be an exciting one as we celebrate Science Week. Ms Issac has been working incredibly hard to create a fascinating programme of challenge, discovery and exploration for children across the school. As part of the week, our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils will also be taking part in science-related trips, alongside the exciting learning taking place in classrooms.

We also look forward to welcoming families to our Year 2 Class Assembly on Thursday at 2:45pm. The children have been working hard and are excited to share their learning with you.

Meanwhile, Year 6 will continue their activity week, with even more action and adventure planned. We look forward to hearing all about their experiences.

Thank you all for another wonderful week. Have a fantastic weekend, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back bright and early on Monday morning.

Kind regards,

Mr McAuley
Head of School
